Oslob Cebu Travel Guide 2025-2026 — Where to Go, Stay, and Eat

Welcome to Oslob, Cebu

Oslob is a first-class municipality on the southeastern coast of Cebu island in the Philippines. Located approximately 133 kilometers from Cebu City, this historic town has transformed from a quiet fishing village into one of the most visited destinations in the Visayas — and for good reason.

From swimming with whale sharks to soaring above mountains on a paraglider, Oslob packs an incredible amount of adventure into one beautiful coastal town.

How to Get to Oslob

From Cebu City (by Bus)

The most common route. Head to the Cebu South Bus Terminal and take a Ceres Liner bus bound for Oslob or Bato. The ride takes 3-4 hours and costs PHP 180-250 (air-conditioned). Buses depart frequently throughout the day, with the first bus leaving around 4:00 AM.

From Cebu City (by Private Vehicle)

Drive south via the coastal road through Carcar, Barili, Moalboal, and Badian. The scenic route takes about 3 hours without stops. Alternatively, take the newer Cebu South Expressway for a faster start.

From Dumaguete (via Liloan Ferry)

Take the ferry from Sibulan port in Dumaguete to Liloan port in southern Cebu (30 minutes, PHP 60). From Liloan, Oslob is just a 20-minute bus or van ride north. This route is perfect if you're coming from Negros or Siquijor.

Top Attractions in Oslob

Whale Shark Watching

Oslob's most famous attraction. Located in Barangay Tan-awan, the whale shark interaction site opens at 6:00 AM daily. Arrive early to beat the crowds. Cost: PHP 1,000 for locals, PHP 1,500 for foreigners (snorkeling). Strict rules protect the whale sharks — follow all guidelines.

Paragliding at OCPD

For the best aerial views of Oslob, book a tandem paragliding flight at Oslob Cebu Paragliding Development. Located at 1,739 ft elevation, you'll fly over mountains and coastline with a certified pilot. No experience needed. Packages from PHP 3,500.

Tumalog Falls

A majestic multi-tiered waterfall just 10 minutes from the whale shark area. The cascading water creates a magical curtain effect. Entrance fee: PHP 20. Arrive before 9 AM for the best photos with fewer people.

Sumilon Island

A postcard-perfect island with a shifting sandbar, marine sanctuary, and pristine waters. Day trips available from Oslob pier (boat rental PHP 1,500-2,500 for a group). The Bluewater Sumilon resort offers day-use passes.
