Paragliding and Pregnancy
No — we do not recommend paragliding during pregnancy. While there is no law against it, the risks outweigh the thrill.
Why It's Not Recommended
- Turbulence: Sudden bumps and altitude changes could be harmful
- Harness pressure: The harness puts pressure on your abdomen and pelvis
- G-forces on launch/landing: Take-off and landing involve brief acceleration
- Altitude: At 1,739 feet, oxygen levels are slightly lower
- Stress: The adrenaline response could trigger contractions
What Doctors Say
Most aviation medicine doctors advise against any adventure activity during pregnancy, especially after the first trimester. Consult your OB-GYN before making any decisions.
